Pentico Collection
The ESA sponsors an extensive collection of epiphyllum hybrids and species in a shade house on the grounds of the Los Angeles Arboretum and Botanic Gardens in Arcadia, California. The collection is named for a former president of the Society, Richard Pentico, whose bequeathment made the endeavor possible. There are literally thousands of different cultivars in the Pentico collection. The Society propagates new plants and takes cuttings which are offered for sale at our events in the spring.
The ESA also maintains an epiphytic cactus display area in the LA Arboretum which is open to the public year-round.
For photographs of the many varieties housed in the Pentico collection, see the "Photos" section.
