Saturday, January 16, 2015

Free admission and parking to members of CSSA affiliate societies. The Epiphyllum Society of America is an affiliate of the CSSA; we pay annual dues to belong.  This is definitely a perk of belonging to the ESA. Regular admission charge at the Huntington on Saturday is $25.00. Bring your membership card, badge, or roster to show you are a member of the ESA. Non-member guests pay regular admission. Registration is from 9:30 AM to 10 AM. Knowledgeable staff members will be stationed throughout the Desert Gardens and Desert Conservatory. There are many eateries on the grounds, or you may bring a sack lunch with you. Write your name on the bag, and they will store it for you. Lunch is from 12 noon to 1 P.M. at Friendship Hall. The Desert Nursery will be open from 1 to 3 for sales to members only. Cash, Checks, and Credit Cards are accepted. Please note there is no formal program, and you are more than welcome to visit any other gardens or exhibits at your leisure. Aloes, Hong Kong Orchid Trees, Asiatic Magnolias, Iceland Poppies, and Camellias are all in bloom during the month of January.

Enjoy the European or American Art Galleries, the History of Science exhibition, The Tea Room at the Rose Garden. Stroll through the Japanese Garden, and the Chinese Garden of Flowing Fragrance. Tour the library containing 420,000 books from medieval times to the present.
